Every Lakeshore puppy is on a careful health schedule from birth. Here's exactly what we complete before go-home day, and what your veterinarian will continue afterward.
Before Your Puppy Comes Home
First deworming with Pyrantel; repeated every two weeks thereafter.
First DHPP combination vaccine (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus) and a fecal check.
Full veterinary wellness exam, microchip, continued deworming, and a clean bill of health for go-home day.
After Homecoming — Your Vet Continues
Second DHPP booster and continued deworming as recommended by your veterinarian.
Final DHPP booster and the rabies vaccine, completing the core puppy series.
Annual boosters, monthly heartworm prevention, and flea/tick protection per your vet's guidance.
A note on timing: until your puppy has finished their full vaccine series at around 16 weeks, please avoid dog parks and high-traffic areas. Safe, controlled socialization at home and with vaccinated dogs is wonderful — just be mindful while their immune system is still developing.
