About the Breed
A quick guide to the gentle, low-shedding doodles we raise — their temperament, their coats, their sizes, and what the generation labels actually mean.
Goldendoodles
A cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, Goldendoodles are affectionate, eager to please, and famously low-shedding. They are gentle, intelligent, and wonderful with children and first-time owners — the social heart of Lakeshore. We raise them in Mini (15–35 lbs) and Standard (35–55 lbs) sizes, in cream, apricot, and red coats.
Bernedoodles
A cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Poodle, Bernedoodles are calm, loyal, and a little goofy — with those unmistakable tri-color coats. They bond deeply with the whole family and bring a steady, devoted temperament to any home. We raise them in Mini (25–45 lbs) and Standard (45–70 lbs) sizes.
Understanding the Generations
F1 — A first-generation cross (50% Poodle, 50% Golden or Bernese). Wavy coats, hybrid vigor, and a light-to-moderate shed.
F1B — An F1 doodle bred back to a Poodle (about 75% Poodle). Curlier, the most allergy-friendly and lowest-shedding option we offer.
Multigen — Doodle bred to doodle over multiple generations for the most consistent, predictable coats and temperaments.
